"The Machine", AKA The FOREST FLOOR Model 101:
1. Minimizes Contamination
Mold, bacteria, or other unwanted fungi can outcompete or infect your mushroom culture, leading to poor yields or failure. Proper sterilization and clean environment are critical. The FOREST FLOOR Model 101 has been designed to minimize contamination and clean easily.
2. Maintains Proper Humidity
Mushrooms require specific humidity levels (usually between 80-95%) to grow properly. Low humidity can hinder growth, while excessive moisture can encourage contamination. The FOREST FLOOR Model 101 optimizes humidity based upon species.
3. Provides Temperature & Climate Controls
Each mushroom species has an optimal temperature range (often between 55-75°F or 13-24°C). Fluctuations or incorrect temperatures can stall growth or cause stress.
4. Simulates Optimal Light Conditions
Some mushrooms need indirect light or specific light cycles to fruit properly. Improper lighting can delay or prevent mushroom development. The Model 101 can simulate a number of natural conditions, optimizing growth.
5. Species Based Air Circulation & Fresh Air Exchange (FAE)
Good airflow reduces the risk of mold and promotes healthy growth. Stale air or excessive CO₂ buildup can inhibit mushroom development or cause deformities.

FOREST FLOOR has teamed up with Kyle Obenberger owner of ikigai labs. Ikigai, meaning purpose in Japanese, will be providing the genetics for the Alpha Program. In doing so, we will be growing only the highest quality mushrooms with the greatest yield and potency. Kyle is well known in the Denver mushroom world and his genetics rank amongst the best in the world.
Remote Oversight by Master Grower
For the month of July, Master Grower Sam Wagner will be overseeing each grow. Using the remote video capabilities Sam will be watching each grow and giving advice as to the ideal time to pick the mushrooms.
Your Job is to Pick Mushrooms in Your Home
In the safety of your own home, The FOREST FLOOR Model 101 takes care of everything except picking mushrooms and refilling the water tank. All other functions can be controlled remotely and are the responsibility of the FOREST FLOOR Team. The only thing we haven't automated is the picking of the mushrooms. Until our robots are fully developed, your job is to pick mushrooms. We will teach you the rest along the way.
