We wanted to build a physical representation to understand the size of the box based upon our "cassette" / tray concept. 3D Renderings for POC.

We approached local craftsman, John Hefflefinger, with the concept drawings. Here is his interpretation in physical form.
Waterproofing material sealed the entire concept box together.
We allowed John free reign on his interpretation of the box. While wood will not be used in the final Model 101, we appreciated his interpretation. Especially when thinking about the natural qualities of mushrooms. Wood and mushrooms go together.
We learned a lot in creating this concept piece. We learned that we needed to open up the experience more so that the internal growing space can be enjoyed more. In artistic terms, we understood that we needed to "open it up more". The next-gen box, "The Orange" did just that!
